About Us
Welcome to Wild Whimsy Forest School, where every day is an adventure in outdoor learning. Our full-day preschool program, operating five days a week, twelve months a year, invites children aged 3-6 to explore, discover, and grow amidst the natural wonders of the forest. At Wild Whimsy, we embrace a child-centered approach that encourages self-discovery, fosters kindness, and instills a love for our environment. Academics and the building blocks for future success are built into our everyday interactions with the forest and community.

In our inclusive community, we celebrate diversity and cherish the bonds formed through shared experiences. Led by passionate educators, we blend academic learning with the unique lessons that only nature can provide. In this outdoor setting we are also providing opportunities for children to develop at their unique rate. The outdoors provide opportunities to blend all learning styles and developmental stages together.
History of Wild Whimsy Forest School

Founded in 2024 by Brittanica Maxter and a team of exceptional and dedicated educators, our school may be new, but not a new school of thought. Our commitment to educational excellence and the well-being of our students is steadfast and deeply rooted.

Brittanica Maxter brings over 15 years of dedicated experience to Wild Whimsy Forest School. Her journey as an educator began over a decade ago, evolving through diverse educational settings—from both public and private schools to alternative learning environments. Her passion for outdoor education blossomed during her 12+ years as an outdoor educator, where she discovered the profound impact of nature on a child's development.

In 2010, Brittanica pioneered an in-home preschool, igniting her vision for a holistic educational approach that integrates nature exploration with developmental growth. As her initial students grew, so did her commitment to their educational journey, extending beyond preschool into enriching summer camp experiences that now span 14+ years. Additionally, Brittanica has been a certified Wilderness First Responder continuously since 2016.
Throughout her career, Brittanica has seamlessly blended educational theories with hands-on outdoor learning, ensuring that each child feels valued and empowered to thrive, as well as inspired to act as stewards for the natural world around them.

The inception of Wild Whimsy Forest School arose from Brittanica's unwavering dedication to outdoor education and her desire to provide a nurturing environment where young minds flourish. Supported by a team of passionate educators—each bringing unique expertise and creativity to our programs—Wild Whimsy Forest School embodies innovation and care in early childhood education.
